Light Up Night
Go downtown for the Light Up Night, which is a series of activities and events in various Golden Triangle locations. The Light Up Night is centered on the Gateway Center and features a tree lighting ceremony by Santa himself. The tree lighting itself took place on 17th of November but the beautiful tree and lights around the city will stay lit every day until 1st January 2018. Enjoy the lights as you do your holiday shipping at the Holiday Market in Market Square, as you go ice skating at PPG Plaza, and even as you stroll around town with family and friends.
Kennywood’s Holiday Lights
Visit Kennywood Park, a traditional amusement park that is transformed into a winter wonderland with nearly every inch of its expanse covered in twinkling Christmas lights. The event features a Christmas tree on a beautiful lagoon, a gingerbread house exhibit, and live performances throughout the park that re guaranteed to keep your spirits up throughout the entire holiday season.
Winter Flower Show Candle Light Evenings
Phipps Conservatory gardens look amazing throughout the year but they outdo themselves every holiday season. Head over to the Phipps gardens every evening from now until January for a relaxing candle-lit, Christmas-themed meal at Café Phipps. Get to visit the Winter Light Garden for an up-close view of the beautiful Christmas Lights, and explore our gift shop for some festive shopping. If you time your visit right, you can even enjoy live musical performances on select Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland
Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland is one of Pittsburgh’s youngest holiday traditions which has quickly become one of the most popular events in Pittsburg. The Butler Fairgrounds are transformed into a glorious wonderland every holiday season since the Butler Fairgrounds opened in 2015. Head on down to Butler and experience a magical light and sound display as you casually cruise the grounds in your car. You will be wowed by some of the most magnificent and technically advanced lights displays in the United States, sure to get the staunchest holiday critic into a believer. The Christmas Wonderland runs all the way from Thanksgiving all the way to the first week of January.
