Make-a-Wish Foundation Brightens Life of Texas Boy

Your heart goes out to small children who are dealing with serious medical conditions, which is why the Make-a-Wish Foundation is such an important part of the community, as it helps brighten up the days of sick kid in need of a break.

In Dallas, a seven-year-old boy named Michael Hollis was surprised when a limousine came to his home and picked him up with his parents Erik and Dalia. The luxury vehicle was on a mission to take the young boy and his family to a nearby art gallery. Awaiting him was a Bugatti sports car valued at $2.5 million, according to a report from CBS.

Michael is in treatment for leukemia after a diagnosis in 2014, taking medications and undergoing chemotherapy. The treatments can be uncomfortable and anything that can distract a young person from their effects is welcome. When the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and South Texas heard about his plight, they reached out to see what wish they could grant for him.

They made arrangements for the boy to drive a Bugatti from Park Place Motors, a local dealership. Waiting for him there was the assigned driver for the car, Butch Leitzinger. He is a representative for Bugatti in Europe and was raring to go show Michael how fun it can be to ride in a top-notch vehicle. The Bugatti is known for being one of the most expensive and highly engineered vehicles currently on the market, making it a wonderful experience for a child going through a serious situation.

Young Michael got into the passenger seat and was whisked away to a drive he will never forget on the Dallas North Tollway. While the vehicle can hit a top speed of 250 mph, the driver didn’t go quite that fast, but he pushed down on the accelerator enough to make Michael smile.

The team at Regency is glad to hear that a young person facing a serious illness was able to have some fun and get to experience the thrill of driving in such a finely engineered and luxurious vehicle. We wish all the best for Michael as he continues treatment, and we want to applaud the Make-a-Wish foundation and Bugatti for doing such a nice thing for a sick child.
