The following are a few unique events and functions you can enjoy this holiday season in Pittsburgh.

Black Friday in Pittsburgh

This event is scheduled for Friday 24th in Downtown; here you will have the opportunity to get some holiday shopping done and participate in some fun holiday activities with your friends and family. There will be a free-for-all bonus day for Kidsplay at Market Square so the kids will also be able to enjoy the festivities of the day in their own special way. Black Friday will also feature free Holley Trolley and carriage rides that everyone can enjoy, so gather all your friends and family and head tn Downtown for a unique Thanksgiving experience.

Macy’s Holiday Parade

Macy’s Holiday Parade is also scheduled for Friday the 24th on Evergreen Road in Pittsburgh, starting at 9am till late evening. This family-friendly parade is an annual event for Thanksgiving in the Steel City and it features several school bands, dance teams, live entertainment from local celebrities, enormous floats, 80 specialty units, and some of the most popular cartoon characters. The route offers participants the opportunity to view performances from various locations in this downtown area so you can rest assured that there will not be a dull moment whatsoever. Enjoy the antiques of acrobats, dancers, and clowns while the kids receive various free treats from the organizers.

This function is meant to kick off Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh on the weekend right before Thanksgiving week. Comcast will mainly feature musical performances from some of your favorite artists in various locations in Downtown. Headliners will include Maggie Lindemann, Andy Grammer, Lyndsey Smith, MCG Jazz All Stars, and Soul Distribution. The event will also feature a dramatic Christmas Tree Lighting and the official arrival of Santa at the Oxford Centre at 6pm. You will be able to witness Santa’s reindeers, enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides, and engage your kids in some free indoor activities. Finally, there will be a fireworks finale at BNY Mellon Innovation Center on Grant Street at 9pm. There is no better way to set the pace for the holidays.

Gateway Clipper Fleet

Head over to Station Square Drive and jump aboard a cruise ship for a Thanksgiving feast as you slowly navigate the famous Three Rivers. It’s the perfect opportunity to sit back and let someone else do the cooking for you this year. The delicious buffet will include all the traditional Thanksgiving trimmings and you will get to enjoy some live music entertainment from various unique acts. This is also a perfect opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the region while you lounge under the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline. We recommend that you make reservations for the buffet online, but if you want a full all-round Thanksgiving experience, we recommend that you get the package deal.
