Thanksgiving 2018 in Pittsburgh: Events and Activities

Whether you are a resident, simply visiting to spend time with family, or passing by during the Thanksgiving period, the Steel City has plenty of great events and activities worth checking out. These events are not simply set for the actual Thanksgiving date, which falls on the 22nd of November, but are spread out across the Thanksgiving week. Our Pittsburgh car service specialists have taken the initiative to compile a list of some of the best events scheduled for this year’s Thanksgiving period for your enjoyment.

But before we tell you what these are, we want to encourage you to employ the services of our Pittsburgh transportation service for all your transportation needs. Our professionally trained and knowledgeable chauffeurs will transfer you and your companions to a location of your choosing in a safe and timely manner as you simply focus on enjoying a comfortable, luxurious ride, take a moment to appreciate everything that makes life worthwhile, pay attention to the people you love, and share in the anticipation of arriving at any one of the exciting Steel City events.

Peoples Gas Holiday Market

Head over to Downtown’s Market Square anytime between the 16th of November and the 23rd of December and get a feel of the vintage European village. This will be the 6th annual installment of its kind and you will find numerous vendors, all offering unique items from all around the world. We recommend stopping by the Kathe Wolfhart booth and browsing through the myriad of potential holiday gifts to stand a chance of winning a trip to Germany, courtesy of Condor Airlines. You could also visit Santa's House and have a Kodak moment with him after which you could explore the numerous food options at your disposal if you’re feeling famished.

Kennywood Lights

Kennywood is arguably America’s Finest Traditional Amusement Park and, on the 23rd of November, you and your loved ones can visit this iconic location to witness over 2 million twinkling lights brighten up the park. You will also get to enjoy a myriad of rides including a 14-ride Kiddieland and six roller coasters. Join the Kennywood Amusement Park in celebrating over 120 years of tradition and innovation. The fun, however, doesn’t stop at Thanksgiving; come back to Kennywood for the duration of the festive season for special events and unlimited family fun.

Thanksgiving Yoga Donation Class

Visit Moksha Yoga along Wildwood Road in the Hampton Township on the 22nd of November between 9 am and 10 am and take part in Juliana Guenther’s donation yoga class in support of the Mary Christmas Project. The Mary Project donates Beanie Boos to Children’s Hospitals across the United States, and we can’t think of a better way to spend your money on Thanksgiving. With the generous support of people just like you, the project was able to give away over 12,000 Beanie Boos last year and hopefully, this year’s initiative will surpass last year’s efforts.
